An experimental program has been running in Richmond California for five years now, and it’s cost the city a few million dollars. In the experiment, cops have been giving 88 young men up to $1000 a month, no strings attached, in an effort to prevent crimes. The city’s experiment was a tremendous success. Now, many cities across the US are getting ready to replicate it. The Resident discusses.
