There’s confusion in Washington over President Barack Obama’s order to send another 250 troops to Syria. Oddly enough, the president’s repeated pledge to keep boots of the ground there came as news to the US State Department. When pressed on the issue by AP’s Matt Lee, State Department’s John Kirby said it was untrue that the government had long-claimed it would avoid troops on the ground. He later clarified, saying that Special Forces are not ground troops – even though they are on the ground. RT America’s Gayane Chichakyan reports.
